Atritech is a new medical device developer and manufacturer.
The WATCHMAN® is a minimally invasive device used in the treatment
of Atrial fibrillation.
The Challenge: A
significant need to train new Field Clinical Engineers, Physicians,
and other operating room personnel in 60 clinics, on an on-going basis, across the
country. Also the requirement to track who received training,
when, and score tracking of knowledge assessments was required.
Rapid development of training with minimum time requirements from
Atritech experts was paramount. Multiple training modules
would be created, maintain similar user interface for users from
module to module.
The Solution: Alloro
instituted a system that allows for rapid development of Flash based
training modules at very affordable prices. Modules can be
hosted on any HTTP server without the need for streaming servers.
For high volume applications video can be served from streaming
servers. The modules are on-demand for anyone who needs them,
any time and any where in the world. Learners are scored on
knowledge assessments real-time. Trainers can track how well
each learner scores on tests. This module requires
high-bandwidth to view but can be downloaded for viewing from a
local hard drive. Modules can be designed for low-bandwidth as
well.
Creation of this module was
accomplished requiring only two hours of the subject-matter-expert's
time. The training module can be viewed
HERE.
Starting with the PowerPoint
presentation used by trainers as the foundation, enhancements
are added including audio, video, Flash animations, and more.
Quizzes are built from templates
that allow 21 different graded survey and question types
including true/false, multiple choice, fill in the blank,
matching, hotspot, Likert scale and more.
Add high resolution images or
Flash movies to quiz to add interest and clarity to questions.
Presentations and quizzes connect
with SCORM or AICC compliant learning management systems or rent
LMS seats on the ASP model or receive results via email.
Modules
can be viewed with Flash 8 or above. This means that
all platforms are supported with no need to worry about codec’s or
even firewalls.
In
addition to just watching the training make sure you try out
features you see on the screen. They are numerous. Many features
that are available are not demonstrated in this version. Some of
them include:
Many options to force the user to view and
complete things in order or the ability to move randomly
Turning on or off many of the features you
see on the screen.
Ability to report results via email or
directly into a Learning Management System in either SCORM or
AICC format.
